Strengthening Our Commitment to Health & Safety: Welcoming Our New Representatives
At Total Specialist Maintenance (TSM), safety is a core value embedded into everything we do. We are delighted to announce that we have appointed two exceptional members of our team – Sam Williams and Scott Turner – to support that value as our new Health & Safety Representatives.
Scott, a Site Supervisor, and Sam, a Site Operative, bring an exceptionally strong safety focus to every aspect of their work, making them ideal for this vital role. They will ensure that every team member is heard, supported, and empowered to work safely. Their key responsibilities include acting as the voice for all colleagues on Health & Safety matters, addressing team concerns and enquiries, participating in Health & Safety and Management Review meetings, and keeping everyone informed about safety initiatives and developments. Their commitment aligns perfectly with our company values of collaboration, accountability, and care for each other — values that underpin our entire approach to health and safety management.
A Culture Built on Safety and Accountability
Our goal is simple but ambitious: zero accidents. This standard reflects our dedication to protecting not only our employees but also contractors, clients, and the public. At TSM, health and safety responsibilities are clearly defined, allocated, and accepted at every level of the business. Every employee plays a vital role in maintaining a safe workplace through proactive involvement, awareness, and adherence to our policies and procedures.
We continually assess risks, implement effective control measures, and invest in training and supervision to ensure that all team members have the knowledge, tools, and confidence to carry out their work safely.
As an ISO 45001 accredited company, TSM operate under the world’s leading standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. This ensures that we systematically identify risks, prevent incidents, and promote the wellbeing of everyone working under our control.
Our additional accreditations — CHAS (Elite), SafeContractor, and SSIP — reinforce this commitment, demonstrating independent verification that TSM consistently meets and exceeds recognised health and safety standards. These certifications not only showcase our compliance but also our proactive drive to lead by example across the industry.
Continuous Improvement Through Collaboration
We believe that health and safety excellence is achieved through active participation and open communication. By appointing Sam and Scott as Health & Safety Representatives, we’re strengthening the bridge between our management and workforce, ensuring that ideas, concerns, and improvements flow freely in both directions.
This collaborative approach is central to our Integrated Management System, which aligns with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) standards. Through regular reviews, audits, and employee engagement, we continually identify opportunities to enhance safety, wellbeing, and operational efficiency.
At TSM, safety is an ongoing journey of learning, communication, and improvement. With the dedication of our team and the leadership of our new representatives, we’re confident that we’ll continue to raise the bar for workplace safety and wellbeing.
As companies in construction, we have a responsibility to build a culture where everyone goes home safe, every day.
