Highways Contractor for a Concrete Repair
A Highways contractor required concrete repairs carrying out to a bridge that was suffering from chloride and carbonation attack
Total specialist provided a solution in conjuction with Fosroc which involved:
- Breaking out the defective concrete locations
- Grit blasting to remove all existing coatings and blasting the Steel reinforcement
- Priming the steel reinforcement with Zinc rich primer
- Carrying the repairs using Fosroc Renderoc HB 45 concrete repair mortar
- Application of a MCI impregnation coating to provide further protection from Chlorides
- Application of a Fairing coat of Fosroc Renderoc ST 05 to the concrete section of the bridge
- Application of Anti-carbonation paint system Fosroc dekguard W
- Stitching of brickwork
