Anglian Water WaterAid Ball 2026
Total Specialist Maintenance was proud to attend and support last month’s Anglian Water WaterAid Ball 2026, an inspiring evening dedicated to raising vital funds for global water, sanitation, and hygiene initiatives.
This fantastic event is hosted annually by Anglian Water, bringing together partners across the industry to raise vital funds for WaterAid, a charity which helps millions of people gain access to safe, reliable water, reducing the time spent collecting water and lowering the risk of waterborne diseases. WaterAid supports communities in building and maintaining safe toilets and sanitation systems, helping prevent the spread of diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera.
This year’s WaterAid Ball, held at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes, brought together organisations from across the UK water sector for a “Secret Garden” themed gala evening. The event combined fine dining with a wide range of entertainment and fundraising activities, including a silent auction, prize draw, and even a mobile hair styling service – a benefit which was lost on some of the less hirsute members of TSM’s contingent! An incredible total of £669,525 was raised in support of global WaterAid projects, including The Beacon Project. As Gold Sponsors, TSM were delighted to play our part in achieving that total.
Behind the playful spirit of the event was a serious message about the urgent need for action in addressing a global water, sanitation and hygiene crisis in which 696 million people – almost one in ten – don’t have clean water close to home.
Mark Thurston, CEO of Anglian Water, highlighted that change is long overdue, saying: “We can send people to the dark side of the moon, yet there are still people without clean, safe drinking water.”
Supporting a global mission
WaterAid is a global organisation working to ensure access to clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene for communities around the world.
A key beneficiary of the evening’s fundraising is The Beacon Project, delivered in partnership with WaterAid and industry collaborators. This corporate partnership initiative is designed to bring together leading UK businesses to support long-term water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects. The programme focuses on improving access to safe water and sanitation services in communities most affected by water scarcity and inequality. Contributions from events like the WaterAid Ball play a vital role in enabling long-term, sustainable infrastructure and community-led solutions.
Naturally aligned with WaterAid’s mission, the UK water industry has become a major participant in The Beacon Project, embracing opportunities to actively contribute to global social value outcomes through events like the WaterAid Ball and other sector-led initiatives.
For Total Specialist Maintenance, participation in events like the WaterAid Ball is part of our wider commitment to social value, responsible business practices, and supporting initiatives that create meaningful, lasting change. Last year, we donated £2,500 to WaterAid in support of their work. We are proud to get behind programmes that help deliver essential resources to communities who need them most.
Events such as the Anglian Water WaterAid Ball 2026 highlight the importance of continued collaboration across the sector. With ongoing support for WaterAid and The Beacon Project, the impact of this work will continue to grow, bringing clean water and improved sanitation to communities worldwide.
